Annual Prize Day
The Annual Prize Day of Nopany Vidyalaya was held on **** at G. D. Birla Sabhaghar. Mr. Lancelot T. Fuller, Principal of St. Jhones Boys’ School was the Chief Guest. He graciously gave away the prizes to all the successful candidates in the form of books and certificates. Gold and Silver medals were given to the toppers of classes X and XII. A cultural programme was presented by the pupils of the school. It was a good entertainment for all the spectators.
Drawing Competition
A drawing competition was organized by NIIT in Nopany Vidyalaya and many pupils participated in it. They proved themselves to be the future artists of the world.
Inter House Debate Competition
An Inter House debate competition was organized in the month of November and enthusiastic students took part and showed their skill.
Rally
A few eager students participated in the rally, which was taken out by Ramakrishna Mission on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's Birthday.
Children's Day
Children's Day was celebrated in our institution on 14th November. The teachers of the school put up a cultural programme to entertain the students. Food packets were distributed among the pupils. The teachers put forth their untiring efforts to make the day a success.
Teachers' Day
Teachers' Day was also celebrated in the school by the pupils to show their gratitude for the teachers of the school. A cultural programme followed by a delicious lunch was organized by the pupils.
Independence Day & Republic Day
Independence Day & Republic Day is celebrated every year within the school premises. The national flag of the country is hoisted by the Rector of the school, Dr. A. Samuel Raj. This is followed by Vande Mataram which sung in chorus by the students. A short cultural programme and some speeches by the students and teachers is delivered to mark the importance of the occasion. The function ends with the National Anthem.
Ganesh Chaturthi and Saraswati puja
Ganesh Chaturthi and Saraswati Puja the two great Hindu festivals are also celebrated in the school. The school hall is decorated and the puja is performed. It is followed by Ganesh Vandana or Saraswati Vandana. Some speeches are delivered to illustrate the significance of these occasions. The function ends with the sweet distribution among the teachers and the students.
Parents' Teacher Meeting
The school does not lag behind in developing a cordial relationship with the guardians of the pupils. A Parents’ Teacher Meeting is held after every examination to discuss the problems of the students. The report cards are handed over to the guardians on that day.
Senior School Exhibition
The senior school exhibition of Nopany Vidyalaya was inaugurated by the honorary secretary, Mr. B. K. Nopany of our school. The exhibition was held on 10th and 11th January’ 2006.
The two halls of the school was decorated with the prodigious work put in by the pupils of various classes. Students were divided into groups and each group was assigned a project. To be able to undertake research work and to execute that into artistic format, was admirable. Each project was meticulously concerned and executed. Projects based on Life Science, Physical Science, History and Geography held everybody enthralled. There were live models impersonating various people. Accurate explanations given for every project attracted the attention of the visitors and displayed tremendous expertise.
With a large number of visitors the exhibition was a great success. It is an affirmation and renewal of how important creativity is to the human beings. Children who may be little slow in other areas, blossom when told to do something creative. It brings out the best in all and as a bonus it is always a pleasure to see our beloved school looking beautiful and bright, filled with colour and exuberance.
Elocution Contest
A few months ago our school students participated in an elocution contest organized by the Ramakrishna Mission Cultural Institute, Golpark.
The Annual Sports of Nopany Group of Schools
The Annual Sports of Nopany Group of Schools was held at the Eastern Command Sports Stadium Fort Willium on January 21, 2006. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Lt. Gen. C. B. Vijan.
From the morning the air throbbed with excitement as students arrived in their spotless and smart uniform. The sports started with the march past. The children walked round the field marching to the beats of the drum of Frank Anthony Public School Band. The guard of honour was taken by our honorary secretary, Mr. B. K. Nopany who was accompanied by our Rector, Dr. A. Samuel Raj. Soon after this the oath was taken by the student representatives. Mr. B. K. Nopany declared the meet open and everyone saw the ceremonial torch going round the field.
Thereafter, the youngsters took over the field in their colourful costumes. The Drill Display with umbrellas was an epitome of rhythm, synchronization and colour. The Pyramid Display by the students of the middle school left the spectators mesmerized. Thereafter the senior students took the track events which included flat races, sack race, three – legged and relay races. The races displayed the athletic prowess of the pupils who shine so bright in the academic arena. After the children had stopped completing, it was the turn of the guardians who participated in the couple race. In the end prizes were distributed by the Chief guest and Nehru House was declared the winner. Some refreshments were served both to the children and the staff members and everyone went home tired but happy.
